Liposuction is a safe way to remove excess fat from the abdomen, waist, hips, buttocks, thighs, and upper arms. Even the neck, cheeks, and chin can benefit from the slimming effects of liposuction. As a leading plastic surgery group in New York and New Jersey, surgeons at Rowe Plastic Surgery are highly skilled in the delicate fat removal and contouring of areas of the body that may be resistant to diet and exercise. Our surgeons are widely regarded for the even smoothing of skin and consistency in their liposuction procedures.
Your Liposuction Surgery
Liposuction is a common procedure, though in the experienced hands of Doctor Rowe and Doctor Pierce, patients are assured optimal results and the safest recovery. Depending on the degree of fat to be removed and the specific body areas targeted, our surgeons may use tumescent liposuction, the super-wet technique, as well as ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL) and power assisted liposuction (PAL) in an attempt to minimize swelling. They will also advise you about whether general or local anesthesia is needed. During liposuction, our surgeons use a cannula wand to gently disrupt and suction fat cells under the skin. Patients under local anesthesia often report a tingling or vibrating sensation and may feel mild pressure as our surgeons contour the body. For some patients, more significant fat removal can be achieved through a series of liposuction procedures performed under general anesthesia.
“Thanks for helping me get bikini ready for summer. Again, thanks for your patience I know I am not the easiest patient. ~C.S.
Depending on the type of anesthesia used, you may be able to return to your daily activities immediately or you may be advised to rest at home during recovery. If you choose, our staff at Rowe Plastic Surgery can recommend local hotels and private nursing care to assist you during this time. Strenuous activity should be avoided for about a month after liposuction, though you are encouraged to walk as comfortable to promote healing.
Our surgeons at Rowe Plastic Surgery are highly skilled in achieving noticeably slimmer, natural body contours. Both men and women are extremely pleased with the immediate results. For up to three months after liposuction you will continue to see improvement as your body heals and swelling subsides. Our surgeons pays careful attention to placing cannula incisions in inconspicuous locations for nearly invisible scarring. Liposuction is a fat removal solution. Fat will not reappear in areas treated with liposuction and future weight gain may be uneven as a result.
